Escape the hustle and bustle of the city in the Bollenstreek. This region is located just below Amsterdam and is known as the Flower Region of Holland. Tulip fields & Keukenhof in Lisse

The Bollenstreek is best known for its magnificent tulip fields in the spring. From the end of March to mid-May, the region will be dominated by the Tulip Festival Amsterdam. Millions of colourful tulips bloom in the tulip fields and at Keukenhof flower park. The flower village Lisse is the centre of the Bollenstreek and has many nice restaurants and shops.

Tulip Experience & Tulip Fields in Noordwijkerhout

Another beautiful flower village is Noordwijkerhout. The village has a small centre but many flower fields surround the village. There are also several small-scale tulip show gardens to visit and there is a beautiful Flower Route that allows you to enjoy the flowers in the spring and summer months while cycling.

More to the east is the flower village of Aalsmeer. This village is mainly known for its flower auction. In addition, Aalsmeer has beautiful flower attractions that are open all year round. Beaches of the Bollenstreek

The Bollenstreek not only has flowers to offer. There are also about 15 kilometres of sandy beaches and an extensive dune area to discover. The most famous beaches in the Bollenstreek are those of Noordwijk. There are many beautiful restaurants on the beaches where you can enjoy a snack and a drink with a view of the sea.

Sailing at Kaag Island

East of the Bollenstreek lies the largest lake district in the Netherlands. The authentic Kaag Island is a real must. The island can only be reached by ferry and has its own atmosphere. You really feel as if you are somewhere else on Kaag Island.
